Parent Meeting Notes

November 29th

Below are the notes from the parent meeting on Monday, November 25.

  • Team Fee: we ask that each student athlete pay $60 team fee. This fee covers the cost of our team shirt, team caps, subsidizes the senior gifts and banquet, among other events throughout the season.
    • Payment goes to Mary Jane Kissel via check, Venmo (@MaryJane-Kissel), or Paypal (@mjkissel)
  • All communication will come from SwimTopia. Please reach out to me via SwimTopia or directly to my email ([email protected]). I will communicate with swimmers and divers through GroupMe and they can contact me through there, as well.
  • Team Apparel
  • Practices
    • Wednesday 5-6am GISC, Thursday 4-5pm MC-Germantown
      • team breakfast on Wednesdays AM
      • a sign-up genius will be sent out to help with donations for breakfasts
    • Attendance Expectations
      • swimmers: must attend BOTH practices unless a club swimmer who is in a COACHES INVITE GROUP, then must attend one (talk to Yuki or Staci if you need further clarification)
      • divers: must attend Wednesday AM and then can attend one of the regional dive practices
      • if an athlete is swimming AND diving: recommendation - Wednesday AM to dive, Thursday PM to swim, Friday regional dive practice (or some combo of this)
  • Meet Schedule
    • all meets have been posted on SwimTopia - please commit student athletes ASAP
    • can only miss TWO meets in order to swim postseason and/or be considered for Varsity
      • if going to miss more than TWO, needs to show face in order to be considered present, talk to Staci or Yuki for clarification
    • arrive 15 minutes prior to start, meet in lobby
    • team dinners & lunches - posted on team calendar
    • line-ups will be sent to student athletes first and then heat sheet will be emailed out to parents and athletes by Friday night (at the latest)
  • Meet Volunteers
    • all swimmers and divers must have parent/guardian representation of volunteering at meets
    • volunteer coordinators: Julie Wolfington, Amanda Mettler, Melissa Doh, Eileen Kao
  • Team Fundraiser
    • Schoolfundr - more info to come next week!
